Iran: Workers' protest and strike in the city of Yazd

According to the paramilitary Basij force linked semi-official news agency in Iran, the Iranian regime's officials from different organizations and institutions have refrained to appear in front of demonstrating workers and people to answer their demands or to even respond to the needs of striking communities and sectors of the society.
The chaotic and confused economic situation which has been the direct result of incalculable plunders by the regime officials, especially by government elites and the incompetency of the persons in charge have resulted in the closer of almost all industrial sectors and the soaring unemployment amongst workers. These workers are already living under the poverty line and once out of jobs their only source of income which would enable them to live would vanish.
According to the news agency, the suffering people 'have so far taken part in many sit-ins and protest gatherings in front of the governor's office in the city of Yazd, central Iran. Among the protest gatherings in recent days, the chicken producing industry, truck drivers and company employees have been most noticeable.
But the officials in the city of Yazd have refrained from appearing in person to answer their grievances despite calling themselves as labor supporters and those who defend the rights of workers. They didn't even bother to step out of their offices and to hear what those hundreds of people have to say.

NCRI Foreign Affairs Committee chief comments on recent spate of executions in Iran

“In the month of April, during and after visits to Iran by the Prime Minister of Italy and the EU foreign policy chief dozens of people have been executed in Iran. Among the latest cases was the execution of eight Iranian Baluchis in Zahedan Prison on Saturday and Tuesday.

The increasing trend of executions indicates that the visits of senior European officials to Iran not only have failed to improve the human rights situation; rather, they have given a message of silence and inaction to the mullahs. This has emboldened the clerical regime in stepping up executions and suppressing the Iranian people. This is the regime that has been the record holder of executions per ca pita globally in 2015. This bitter reality is not an issue of pride for any of the guests of the religious fascism.

At least 40 women are imprisoned on political, ideological and security charges in a number of prisons in Iran.
However, this figure must be considered minimum, as the Iranian regime conceals most of the information about political detainees held in secret prisons.
Under the mullahs' rule in Iran, women are supposed to stay home and therefore, having any kind of political or civil rights activity is considered a serious crime for women and evokes greater retaliation by the government.
Prison conditions are also very poor and inhumane. As such, many of imprisoned women have developed various illnesses. Some of them have children but are deprived of visiting them.
A number of prisoners and prison conditions have been briefly reviewed in this pamphlet.
