Iran: A Testimony Of Change

Rajavi’s supporters and a large gathering of the Iranian Diaspora responded to a call made by the Organization of Iranian American Communities for a New York rally protesting the presence of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani at the UN General Assembly. The demonstrators made their presence felt, voicing how they do not consider neither Rouhani nor the regime in Tehran as their representatives, and demanding he be expelled from the UN.

Prominent US dignitaries from both sides of the aisle joined the rally and voiced their support for the demonstration’s cause.

Senator Joseph Lieberman, Chairman of the United Against Nuclear Iran, highlighted on the necessity for a collective effort to change the Tehran regime.

While emphasizing Iran’s clerics must not celebrate their 40th anniversary in February and if Rouhani is allowed into the United Nations, Ambassador John Bolton emphasized so should a representative of the Iranian opposition group National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI).

Powerful Protest by Iranian Activists Over Rouhani's Speech at UN

NCRI - A huge crowd of human rights activists, politicians, and people from the Iranian diaspora gathered outside the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York on Wednesday September 20, to protest Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s speech.

Amir Emadi, the spokesman for the Organization of Iranian American Communities (OIAC) noted that Rouhani should not be accepted in New York, a city so dedicated to human rights, and certainly not at the UN.

Some protesters dressed in caricature-esque costumes of Rouhani and Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei , designed to highlight the grotesqueness of the Regime that has murdered over 120,000 political dissidents, while others gave out literature which documented the Regime’s crimes, and more still chanted, played music, and spoke up for human rights in Iran.

A large Syrian delegation also joined the Iranian Resistance rally in NYC. They called for the freedom of Syrian people from the dictator Assad regime. The speaker said that there is not doubt that the Syrian and Iranian people will prevail soon. The only reason that the dictator Assad is in power is because of the mullahs criminal regime helping them. So we are gathered here to say NO to Rouhani and No to Assad.

Senator Joseph Lieberman also addressed the huge crowed of Iranian Americans at the great rally in NYC in front of the UN Plaza to say No to Rouhani at the UNGA. 

the Senator said during past two years that the nuclear agreement was negotiated nothing has been done to improve the human rights in Iran. And the President Trump was right to say that Iranian regime is the biggest threat the region and the world.

Senator Lieberman added that since the Iranian regime says that we are not going to change, then we must change the regime.

Maryam Rajavi’s message to the demonstration of Iranians before the UN HQ in New York

Fellow compatriots, friends of the Iranian Resistance, I salute you for your demonstration and perseverance. The people of Iran are proud of you.

I would like to thank the distinguished personalities who have joined this rally in solidarity with the Iranian people’s Resistance.

Your gathering today, echoes the cries of the people of Iran as well as the voice of human society dismayed by the admission of the president of an anti-human regime to the UN General Assembly.

This year, Rouhani’s participation in the General Assembly coincides with the report of the United Nations’ Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Iran who has for the first time focused attention on the catastrophic massacre of political prisoners in Iran in 1988.

The UNSR has recalled the executions of thousands of men and women upon Khomeini’s edict and their burial in unmarked mass graves. She has called for an independent and effective inquiry into this crime and revelation of the truth.

The report, which was submitted to the General Assembly with a note by the UN Secretary General, was among the achievements of the Call for Justice Campaign demanding justice for the 30,000 victims of the massacre in 1988.

The report is also a valid document that challenges admission of the regime’s president to the United Nations. Our demand, which is the demand of our oppressed nation, is the expulsion of the president of the regime of massacre from the United Nations.

Do not let the podium of the United Nations become a pulpit for defending a state-sponsor of terrorism and its brutal tyrannical regime. A regime that has violated all international laws and UN covenants, and has trampled upon all the 30 articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

For years, the regime has turned down the requests of the UN rapporteurs, particularly the Special Rapporteur on Human Rights, to visit Iran.

Yes, Iran’s ruling religious fascism has no place at the United Nations and must be sent out of UN.

Rouhani has acknowledged, himself, that the regime has done nothing but execution and torture over the past 38 years, and therefore, he must not be accepted by the United Nations.

More than 3,000 people were executed during Rouhani’s first term. Over the same period, the regime’s war budget exceeded those of all the previous years. Every year, Rouhani wasted a major portion of the country’s revenues on the slaughter of the people of Syria and the regime’s destructive interventions in Iraq and Syria.

And today, his cabinet is made up of people who either were on the death commissions ordering the massacre of political prisoners, or were among the highest ranking officials of the Intelligence Ministry in charge of torture and executions.

And the most important commitments of such a cabinet are none but the expansion of the regime’s missile program and added manufacturing of weapons to continue their belligerence and terrorism in the Middle East region.

I must reiterate that as long as the international community, including the United Nations, keeps its doors open to the murderers of the people of Iran, the latter will continue their rights abuses and warmongering.

The time has come for the international community, particularly the Western governments, to stop being lenient and making concessions to the religious dictatorship in Iran and remain silent and passive towards their crimes in Iran and abroad.

The international community must compel the Iranian regime to stop its massacre of the people of Iran and suppression of their rightful protests. The world must put an end to the Iranian regime’s crimes in the Middle Eastern countries.

The clerical regime is in a very weak position and it needs its relations with the West more than ever before. The Iranian people expect that the world’s democratic governments condition every commercial engagement with Tehran on the end to torture and executions.

They must recognize the massacre of political prisoners in Iran in 1988 as a crime against humanity.

The United Nations must set up an independent inquiry committee to investigate the 1988 massacre in Iran.

And the UN Security Council must set up a special court or refer the dossier of the 1988 massacre in Iran to the International Criminal Court to arrange for prosecution of the regime’s leaders.

All governments, and particularly the United States, must block all means of trade with the IRGC. Yes, the eviction of the Iranian regime from Iraq, Syria and Yemen, and expulsion of the IRGC from those countries is only solution to the problems in the Middle East.

Of course, our people seek to bring down the religious dictatorship ruling the country. As the Iranian Resistance Leader Massoud Rajavi once pointed out, “As long as the mullahs’ regime exists, its overthrow is our inalienable right and the right our people.”

Dear friends,

Today, regime change in Iran is within reach more than any other time. You can see this in the resistance of heroes, the hunger strike of political prisoners and in the movement of the people of Kurdistan who protest the ruthless killing of porters.

This social readiness is also ever more evident in the acts of protest staged by teachers, nurses, workers, students and those whose properties have been looted by government agencies.

These facts attest to the truth that the people of Iran are yearning for fundamental change in Iran more than ever before. To achieve this goal, each one of you bear a great responsibility to seize the opportunities and turn them into an effective force against the mullahs’ regime. This can be made possible only at your hands. Your acceptance of responsibility and efforts are more significant than any other time.

I call on everyone to help expand the campaign for the overthrow of the mullahs’ religious tyranny and the velayat-e faqih regime in Iran.

The rally will call on U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley to refer the 1988 massacre dossier to the U.N. Security Council, the statement by the group said.

New York City; August 10, 2017 – Thousands of Iranian-Americans will gather in New York City to protest Iranian regime president Hassan Rouhani’s presence at the United Nations General Assembly, and call for regime change in Iran.  Organized by the Association of Iranian Americans in New York (AIAINY), a member of the Organization of Iranian American Communities-US (OIAC),  the 3-day program includes a September 20, 2017 rally outside the U.N. headquarters as well as street acts and a photo exhibition to commemorate the anniversary of the 1988 massacre of 30,000 political prisoners in Iran.

Protesters will urge the international community to evaluate Rouhani on his deeds, not his deceptive demeanor or words. They will emphasize the ever-escalating discontent in Iran. According to the regime’s own officials, some10 million Iranians struggle with addiction and around 18 million people live below the poverty line. Yet on December 31, 2015, Rouhani ordered his armed forces, “to quickly and significantly increase their missile capability.”

Parallel to the regime’s ballistic weapons program and terrorism across the Middle East, the number of executions in Iran has skyrocketed during Rouhani’s presidency.  In July 2017 alone, at least 100 Iranians were executed.  Individuals who served in his previous administration, and those now being picked as ministers, not only perpetrated the current barbarism, but also had a major role in the mass executions of 1988. His choice for Justice Minister for the last 4 years, Mostafa Pour-Mohammadi, was a member of Tehran’s infamous “death commission.” He was replaced this term by Alireza Avaie, who was directly involved in the 1988 massacre of political prisoners in Iran’s Khuzestan Province

Rouhani’s deeds are indeed an affront to modern civilization and highlight the abject failure of Western appeasement policies vis-à-vis Iran. While applauding the growing international awareness of Rouhani’s contempt for democracy and human rights, and his unsavory role in the growing instability in the Middle East, Iranian Americans

will emphasize that regime change in Iran is imperative and achievable, not by means of outside military interference, but from Iran’s own people and their organized Resistance, which is fully prepared to facilitate that change.

Our community members, their Congressional representatives, human rights defenders and their interfaith supporters will also attend and call on U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley to refer the 1988 massacre dossier to the U.N. Security Council.

Maryam Rajavi, met Mayor Rudy Giuliani on Friday, June 30, at the NCRI headquarters in Auvers-sur-Oise, northwest of Paris.
Mayor Giuliani pointed to the Iranian regime’s malign activities in the region, stressing that the mullahs are the source instability and crisis in the region, and have kept their grip on power in the past 38 years through widespread repression and blatant disregard for human rights at home and the export of extremism and terrorism abroad.
The former New York City Mayor emphasized that the Iranian regime has been the most active state sponsor of terrorism and Islamic extremism in the past three decades, and that Hassan Rouhani has been a key player in pursuing the regime’s ominous objectives, including in the proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction. He said despite all the concessions unduly provided to the Tehran, the clerical regime is at a complete impasse and is extremely vulnerable in view of the economic crisis, domestic isolation and a growing power struggle.
There is a growing consensus in the United States that the West’s policy of appeasing the Iranian regime has been a total failure, Mayor Giuliani said. He added that the imperative of formulating a firm policy on Iran, namely standing with the Iranian people and the resistance to bring about change, is becoming more pervasive.
Rajavi appreciated Mr. Giuliani’s endeavors in the campaign that led to the safe transfer of members of the Iranian resistance from Iraq to other countries, including Albania. She elaborated on the expanding and continuing activities of the Iranian resistance, particularly in Iran, especially during the shame elections and afterwards.
Mr. Giuliani expressed his support for Maryam Rajavi’s efforts to establish democracy and human rights in Iran, noting that the Iranian Resistance is a viable alternative to the medieval regime ruling Iran.

Political prisoners and Balouch prisoners in the central prison of Zahedan, including a number of Sunni clerics, wrote in solidarity with the Paris gathering, " From all activists inside the country and abroad who have always made your efforts and stood with us, the voiceless prisoners behind bars, we are seriously requesting to take part in this rally as the defenders of our rights, and be our voice to the world …

Ebrahim Firoozi, a Christian political prisoner, send his message from Gohardasht prison:" The gathering of fellow citizens in France is a sign of the flaming spirit of liberation.......

The political prisoner, Arjang Davoodi, wrote from exile in the central prison of Zabol: "In the current battle against oppression and injustice, it can be argued firmly that the National Council of Resistance and the PMOI, with the dedication of thousands of martyrs and prisoners, can be the precursor of the just struggle of Iranians ...

Political prisoner Mehdi Farahi Shandiz sent a message from Qazvin Prison: "After the decisive transfer of the PMOI members and combatants of NLA to Albania and after the fake election that put Khamenei and the his whole regime in a dead end, it was proved that the choice of our nation is to get rid of religious despotism and fascism, and separation of religion from the state and Iran without compulsion, discrimination, censorship, repression, torture and execution ....

Nevertheless, the gathering of Iranian Resistance is a striking lightening in the sky of inactivity, despair, and stagnancy. Our hopes, wishes, and alternatives do not only encourage the decent Iranians outside and Inside of Iran but they also arouse the clear consciences of the Middle East, Europe, and the U.S. as well as the miserable people. Youth Supporters of MEK: Responsibility to Attend Iranian Opposition Convention

On July 1st thousands of Iranians will gather in Paris to support the movement to obtain freedom and democracy for their homeland. The convention is organized each year by the Iranian opposition movement (PMOI/MEK). Iranian youth especially look forward to this event as it’s a time to come together and support human rights.
Too often we hear about the arrests, ill-treatment, and executions of Iran’s youth population.
Reports indicate 10 inmates were executed merely a few days after the 2017 Iranian elections, including 30-year-old Abdulkarim Shahnavazi. Reports also emerged that 24-year-old Diyako Hashemi was killed under torture by Iranian intelligence agents. Two men in their 30s were sentenced to have their fingers amputated and 90 children were also arrested in Sepidan, central Iran. The Iranian regime has a history of raiding gatherings and parties, and imprisoning the attendees, which has heightened during the past few years.
Political prisoner Ms. Atena Daemi was recently on hunger strike for 54 days protesting against the arrest of her sisters. Political prisoner Arash Sadeghi was previously on hunger strike for 71 days protesting against the imprisonment of his wife, Golrokh Iraee.

It must be remembered by these people that the moderate Muslims are the people that are able to help the most in stopping vulnerable ones from turning to fundamentalism. Free Iran Rally & the Role of the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (MEK)

A major gathering is being held at the Villepinte Exhibition Center outside of Paris, France. The gathering is focused on Iran policy and at the center of the case is the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran. The People’s Mojahedin is also known by its Persian name, Mojahedin-e Khalq or MEK and it is the main constituent group in the National Council of Resistance of Iran, the leading coalition advocating for the cause of regime change driven by the Iranian people and their expatriate allies.
The Free Iran rally has been growing every year. The 2017 gathering is expected to keep pace with the previous few years, with upwards of 100,000 supporters of the MEK traveling to France from throughout the world. Naturally, the participants will mostly represent Iranian expatriate communities, but each year’s event also draws hundreds of politicians and foreign policy experts who recognize the global value of the MEK and the 10-point plan that NCRI President Maryam Rajavi has laid out for the future of Iran.

Senate targets Iran in sweeping measures

Despite its nature of acting mostly in a polarized manner, the US Senate witnessed Republicans and Democrats joining force to pass a bill of sweeping sanctions inflicting strong punishments against Iran involving a long slate of financial penalties.
The overwhelming 98-2 vote for the “The Countering Iran’s Destabilizing Activities Act of 2017” came on Thursday June 15, sending a clearly strong message to Tehran signaling the bipartisan alliance on taking measures against the mullahs’ belligerence inside and abroad. Iran’s ballistic missile program, support for terrorist groups and human rights violations are in the crosshairs of this sanctions package.
This bipartisan vote will be demanding major action from the Trump administration, especially after lawmakers in a recent hearing called on Secretary of State Rex Tillerson to designate Iran’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) as a foreign terrorist organization.
