NCRI - At least over two dozens people were arrested on
Sunday in Tehran during a raid by Iranian regime’s State Security Forces
(Police) against those who had gathered outside Tehran’s Evin prison and the
home of political prisoner Mohammad Ali Taheri demanding his release.
Mohammad Ali Taheri, founder of a new spiritual group in
Iran called Erfan-e-Halgheh, was arrested on 4 May 2011 by officials linked to
the Iranian regime’s Revolutionary Guards.
Mr. Taheri, had been condemned to five years in prison and a
fine of 9 billion Rials plus 74 lashes for ludicrous charges such as “insulting
the sanctities; illicit usage of scientific titles (doctor and engineer);
writing misleading books and articles”.
His supporters gathered outside Tehran’s Evin prison calling
for his release. The Iranian regime prevented Mr. Taheri’s wife and children to
join the protest outside Evin Prison.
